Genesee Valley Greenway Bridges Project Begins in Allegany County to Enhance Trail Connectivity
Construction has commenced on four new bridges along the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park in Allegany County, New York. The $6.25 million project aims to create 22 miles of continuous trail, eliminating detours onto Route 19. The initiative, funded by state agencies and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, seeks to improve safety and connectivity among seven communities in the region. The new bridges will restore connections at sites where former railroad bridges were removed, enhancing recreational opportunities for walking, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
