UnitedHealth Group Warns Public of Fraudulent Employment Scams
UnitedHealth Group has issued a public warning regarding fraudulent LinkedIn messages and emails falsely claiming to be from the company, UnitedHealthcare, or Optum executives. These scams involve individuals being contacted with fake job offers, often for remote positions at Optum, and are asked to participate in Zoom interviews. Following the 'interview,' applicants receive a counterfeit check via mail and are instructed to pay a vendor a significant sum of money. UnitedHealth Group explicitly states that these messages and emails do not originate from their executives' LinkedIn accounts or official email domains. The company emphasizes that it will never request job applicants to pay a vendor or any fee to explore employment opportunities. This alert aims to protect individuals from falling victim to these counterfeit-check cashing schemes, which use various deceptive tactics.
