Henderson Police Unions Issue Cease-and-Desist to Councilwoman Carrie Cox Over Campaign Material Use
Two Henderson police organizations, the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers and the Henderson Police Supervisors Association, have issued a cease-and-desist letter to Henderson City Councilwoman Carrie Cox. The unions are demanding that Councilwoman Cox immediately stop using their identifying materials, including images, names, badges, and logos, in her political campaign, on her website, and on billboards. They explicitly stated that any language implying their endorsement must be removed, as her campaign is not endorsed by either association. The organizations also confirmed that they have rescinded any previous endorsements they may have given to Councilwoman Cox. In response, Councilwoman Cox stated that an old campaign banner from her last race was mistakenly placed at a small event, and the logos were covered within 90 seconds before the public entered.
