California Highway Patrol Reports Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocking Interstate 80 Lanes in Sacramento
Interstate 80 lanes in Sacramento are currently blocked due to a multi-vehicle crash reported early Tuesday morning. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that the incident, possibly involving three vehicles, occurred shortly before 5:50 a.m. on westbound I-80, just west of Madison Avenue. Caltrans cameras show significant traffic congestion extending past the Foothill Farms area. As of 6:20 a.m., the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane and the No. 1 lane remain blocked. The CHP has issued a SigAlert, which signifies that extended delays or road closures are anticipated. There is no estimated time for the reopening of the affected lanes.
