Severe Storms Expected Tonight in Indianapolis, Followed by Heat Surge
Indianapolis is set to experience severe thunderstorms tonight as a cold front moves southward from the Great Lakes region. According to WISH-TV, temperatures will rise into the upper 80s°F (31-32°C) this afternoon before storms develop after 6 p.m. Damaging winds are the primary concern, with small hail also possible. The tornado threat remains low and is mostly confined to far northern Indiana. After midnight, the storms are expected to taper off as the front passes through, leading to quieter weather overnight. A return to hot and humid conditions is forecast for the weekend, with highs nearing 90°F (32°C) by Sunday.
