House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries Endorses Rep. Steven Horsford, Criticizes President Trump's Policies in Las Vegas
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries visited Las Vegas to express strong support for Rep. Steven Horsford's re-election campaign and to criticize the economic policies of President Trump. Speaking alongside Horsford and local labor leaders, Jeffries emphasized the Democratic Party's commitment to organized labor. He stated that House Democrats stand 'shoulder to shoulder' with unions and will prioritize pro-union legislation, including the PRO Act, to protect workers' rights to organize. Jeffries also highlighted what he termed a 'Trump slump,' asserting that President Trump's policies have led to increased costs for everyday Americans, making life more expensive. He specifically mentioned rising costs of groceries, gas, and housing, and criticized the Trump tariffs, which he claimed cost Americans thousands of dollars annually. Jeffries also touched on immigration enforcement, advocating for a fair, just, and humane system and pledging to push back against ICE's actions.
