Annette Taddeo Wins Florida CFO Democratic Primary, Faces Republican Incumbent
Former State Senator Annette Taddeo has secured the Democratic nomination for Chief Financial Officer in Florida, winning the primary with 65.6% of the vote against Earle Ford. Taddeo, whose father was born in Orange, New Jersey, and served in World War II and the Korean War, will now advance to the general election. She is set to challenge Republican incumbent Blaise Ingoglia, who was appointed to the Florida CFO position last year after Jimmy Patronis resigned to run for Congress. Ingoglia, who grew up in Queens, New York, previously served as a state senator. The upcoming election marks a significant challenge for Democrats, as the party has not won the Florida CFO post since 2006, and the last Democrat to win statewide in Florida was Nikki Fried in 2018 for Commissioner of Agriculture.
