Mother of Nolan Wells Subpoenas Tech Companies for Social Media Records Amid Investigation
Christine Wonsley, the mother of Nolan Wells, has issued subpoenas to several major social media and technology companies to obtain records of her son's accounts. This legal action is part of an effort to gather information surrounding the circumstances of Wells' death. The subpoenas, filed in the Mississippi State Chancery Court, target platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, TikTok, and Life360. The family seeks access to messages, photos, videos, and GPS data that could provide insights into the events leading to Wells' death. Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old football player at Southwest Mississippi Community College, went missing during a Fourth of July celebration on Horn Island, Mississippi. His body was recovered on July 6, and while authorities suspect drowning, the investigation is ongoing. The subpoenas follow allegations that some of Wells' phone data, including texts and Snapchat messages, were deleted before the family retrieved his phone.
