Hurricane Polo Waves Cause Rockslide in Laguna Beach
The remnants of Hurricane Polo have caused significant disruptions along California's coastline. On Tuesday, strong waves from the storm triggered a massive rockslide at Agate Street beach in Laguna Beach, Orange County. The rockslide dirtied the water and led to the closure of the beach for safety reasons. Fire and Marine Safety crews responded promptly, closing access to the affected area and initiating a geological survey to assess the damage. Although Hurricane Polo did not make landfall in Los Angeles, its strong swells have impacted coastal communities. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect for Orange County and San Diego County until 5 p.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service has warned that dangerous ocean conditions, including strong rip currents, may persist even as the high surf begins to subside.
