Severe Microburst Causes Damage in Bristol, Colorado
On August 13th and 14th, severe weather impacted the distribution system in Bristol, Colorado, as reported during the Lamar Utilities Board meeting on August 25, 2026. A microburst caused significant damage, breaking five poles and damaging two 15kva polemount transformers on the south side of Bristol. Additionally, two poles were damaged at Co Rd JJ and 26.5, and another power pole was affected in the Kornman area. Crews worked tirelessly through the night to replace poles and restore power to the affected areas.
