The MAX in Meridian Announces 2026-2027 Hall of Fame Inductees Celebrating Mississippi's Musical Legacy
The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (The MAX) in Meridian has announced its 2026-2027 Hall of Fame class, honoring influential figures in Mississippi's musical history. The inductees include Mississippi John Hurt, known for his fingerpicking guitar style and role in the 1960s folk blues revival, and the Mississippi Mass Choir, a gospel group with a record-breaking debut album. Other honorees are Charley Patton, the 'Father of Delta Blues,' blues artist Bobby Rush, and country music star Conway Twitty. The MAX, an interactive museum, celebrates Mississippi's contributions to the arts and will host an induction ceremony in January 2027.
