Afroman Sues Ohio Deputy for Malicious Prosecution Over Raid Videos
Rapper Afroman, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, has filed a lawsuit against former Adams County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Newland for malicious prosecution. This legal action follows a previous defamation case brought by Newland and other deputies against Afroman, which revolved around social media posts and music videos using footage from a 2022 raid on Afroman's home. The initial lawsuit, which sought $3.9 million, was dismissed earlier this year, with the jury finding in favor of Afroman. The rapper's new lawsuit claims that Newland's case was frivolous and caused him emotional distress and legal expenses.
