The incident began around 2 a.m. when police received a notification from a Flock camera about a stolen Kia. Officers spotted the vehicle on Waycross Road and Northland Boulevard. The teenager attempted to flee when police tried to stop him, resulting in a short pursuit. The chase concluded when the vehicle went over a dam at Winton Woods. The teen attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended approximately 100 feet from the crash site. He admitted to stealing the car out of boredom and now faces felony charges of theft and failure to comply with police orders. He is currently held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and is expected to appear in court soon.
