Brett Lindstrom Disqualified from Nebraska Governor's Race Due to Invalid Signatures
Nonpartisan gubernatorial candidate Brett Lindstrom has failed to qualify for the 2026 general election ballot in Nebraska after over 2,000 of his submitted signatures were invalidated. The Nebraska Secretary of State’s office announced that Lindstrom did not meet the required threshold of 4,000 valid signatures from registered Nebraska voters. His campaign submitted 5,765 signatures, but only 3,358 were validated. Additionally, candidates must have at least 750 valid signatures from registered voters in each of the state's three congressional districts. State officials reported that a significant number of fraudulent signatures were discovered during the validation process. Some of these fraudulent petition pages were circulated by three individuals who were arrested earlier in the month on suspicion of circulator fraud.
