Teen Accused in Deadly Atlantic County Stolen Mercedes Crash After Multiple Police Encounters
An 18-year-old, Nayshaun Brown of Atlantic City, has been accused of driving a stolen Mercedes G-Wagon that crashed head-on into another vehicle in Mays Landing, Atlantic County, resulting in the deaths of Alice Stilwell, 67, and Robert Barr Jr., 54. Court records indicate that the stolen SUV had several encounters with law enforcement in the hours leading up to the fatal collision. Longport police attempted to stop the Mercedes at 3:42 a.m., followed by Egg Harbor Township police at 7:18 a.m. in a Walmart parking lot. Hamilton Township police also spotted the vehicle at 7:46 a.m. at a housing complex, but it fled, and officers lost sight of it shortly before the crash. Brown and three juveniles in the SUV reportedly tried to flee the scene after the crash but were apprehended. Marijuana was recovered, and Brown appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
