Florida Expands State-Funded Brain Health Program for First Responders in Clay County
A new state-funded brain health and wellness program is expanding to Clay County, Florida, to provide support for local first responders and military veterans. This personalized, non-invasive treatment utilizes specialized brain mapping technology to assist emergency personnel and veterans dealing with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The initiative is fully funded by the state of Florida, ensuring that care is accessible to members of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Fire Department, Orange Park Police Department, Orange Park Fire Department, Green Cove Springs Police Department, and veterans associated with Operation Barnabas. The treatment involves 20 sessions, each lasting 15 minutes, and has shown benefits for individuals coping with anxiety and PTSD. Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook, who personally underwent the program, reported significant improvements in her health, including better sleep.
