Prolonged Wet and Stormy Weather Expected in Jacksonville
Jacksonville is set to experience a week-long period of warm, humid, and unsettled weather. Starting today, temperatures will reach around 31°C (88°F), accompanied by numerous showers and thunderstorms triggered by the East Coast sea breeze. Heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning are expected, particularly over the weekend as tropical moisture interacts with a stalled frontal boundary. By Sunday, repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms could lead to localised flooding. From Tuesday onwards, strong northeast winds, rough Atlantic conditions, dangerous surf, and rip currents are anticipated, along with potential beach erosion and tidal flooding. Temperatures will trend cooler later in the week as high pressure builds and the frontal boundary moves south.
