Cobb County Schools Invest $35 Million Annually in Safety Measures
Cobb County Schools are making a significant annual investment of $35 million to enhance safety and security for over 100,000 students. This initiative, championed by Superintendent Chris Ragsdale and the Board, focuses on a multi-layered approach to school safety. Key components include a dedicated police department with over 80 officers, 16 Vapor Wake K9 teams, and advanced technology. The Vapor Wake K9s are specially trained to detect concealed firearms and explosives, even when individuals are in motion, and are integrated into the daily school environment.
