Duluth Fire Displaces Resident, Causes $50,000 in Damages
A basement fire in a single-family residence on the 3900 block of Maxwell Avenue in Duluth, Minnesota, on Tuesday, resulted in the displacement of one person and an estimated $50,000 in damages. The Duluth Fire Department responded to the structure fire at approximately 12:10 p.m. Firefighters from multiple stations were dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze by attacking it from the exterior. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's office. Assisting the Duluth Fire Department were St. Louis County 911 emergency communications, Minnesota Power, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
