Philadelphia Faces Flash Flood Warnings Amid Severe Storms
The Philadelphia region is under flash flood warnings as severe storms bring heavy rain and damaging winds. The warnings are in effect across several counties, including Bucks, Chester, and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, as well as New Castle County in Delaware and parts of New Jersey. The storms are expected to deliver rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour, posing a significant risk of flash flooding, especially in areas that experienced rain on the previous day. The severe weather is also accompanied by threats of damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Residents are advised to prepare for potential power outages and to avoid travel during the storm.
