Pennsylvania Survey Reveals Overwhelming Support for Increased Anti-Human Trafficking Initiatives
A new statewide Anti-Human Trafficking Survey in Pennsylvania indicates 97.3% support for coordinated regional human trafficking services and increased public awareness initiatives. The survey, conducted by Greenlight Operation and Messiah University, gathered insights from nearly 200 expert community stakeholders, including survivors, law enforcement, faith-based organizations, educators, and social service providers. These stakeholders participated in 10 regional policy forums across the state. Key findings highlight significant gaps: only 25% of law enforcement and first responders feel equipped to identify human trafficking, and just 51.9% of social service providers believe their teams are proficient. Furthermore, only 11.4% of respondents reported adequate funding for anti-human trafficking solutions, and a mere 3.2% agreed that sufficient aftercare services are available for survivors.
