Pennsylvania Man Arrested for Allegedly Planning ISIS-Inspired Mass Casualty Attack
Jonathan Kramer, 21, of Valencia, Pennsylvania, was arrested by the FBI in Cranberry Township, Butler County, for allegedly planning a mass casualty attack in support of ISIS. Federal law enforcement officials stated that Kramer had armed himself and demonstrated a "sustained devotion" to the Islamic State of Syria, even recording a pledge of allegiance to the organization. Richard Evanchec, special agent in charge for the FBI's Pittsburgh field office, described the planned attack as an "imminent threat of violence inspired by ISIS." Investigators found a semi-automatic rifle, loaded rifle magazines, a rifle scope, boxes of ammunition, and 30 knives, along with a note, in Kramer's hotel room and home.
