President Museveni Praises East African Revival's Transformative Impact in Ankole
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lauded the East African Revival for its significant role in transforming communities in Ankole, Uganda. Speaking at St. John’s Cathedral, Ruharo, in Mbarara city, during celebrations marking 90 years of the movement in Greater Ankole, President Museveni highlighted how the Revival addressed various social challenges. These challenges included alcoholism, adultery, dishonesty, poor hygiene, superstition, and harmful traditional practices. The President noted that the movement, which began in Ankole 90 years ago, fostered education, discipline, and responsible Christian living, contributing to the moral, social, and economic development of the region over several decades. He also shared personal anecdotes about his family's initial resistance to joining the Church of Uganda and his own early experiences with the church in Ankole.
