Cooling centers open in Coastal Bend amid heat wave
Coastal Bend residents are preparing for another week of intense heat, prompting local authorities to open cooling centers to provide relief. Senior centers and public libraries will serve as designated cooling locations during their regular operating hours. Additionally, free rides through the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CC-RTA) are available to help residents access these facilities. This initiative aims to mitigate the risks associated with prolonged exposure to high temperatures, especially for vulnerable populations such as seniors and those without access to air conditioning.
