Cranston City Plan Commission Recommends Stormwater Ordinance with Amendments
The Cranston City Plan Commission has voted to send a positive recommendation to the City Council regarding a proposed stormwater ordinance, including five staff-proposed amendments. The ordinance, identified as Ordinance 07-20-01, aims to establish maximum impervious-surface limits on residential lots, mandate stormwater mitigation for small single- and two-family construction not reviewed by state regulators, introduce riparian buffer rules, and address parking surfaces. Impervious surfaces include roofs, driveways, and other hard covers that prevent rainwater absorption.
