Hancock County Man Charged with Felony Invasion of Privacy in Knoxville
Dusty Cooper, a 43-year-old man from Hancock County, Tennessee, has been charged with three counts of felony invasion of privacy and simple possession. According to court records, officers responded to the Lake Avenue parking garage in Knoxville after receiving a report of a suspicious man using binoculars to look into apartment windows. Upon arrival, officers found Cooper, who immediately dropped the binoculars. When questioned, Cooper initially stated he 'didn't know' why he was looking into apartments but later admitted to using binoculars 'to get a closer look' after seeing a woman in a towel, calling it a 'bad idea.' Residents of the apartment Cooper was allegedly observing reported seeing him on the parking garage for multiple days. Security camera footage indicated Cooper had been on the garage for nearly five hours before officers arrived, despite his claim of being there only on lunch breaks for two days. A THC vape was also found during a search, leading to the simple possession charge.
