According to the FOX Forecast Center, a warm front moving through the Mid-Atlantic region is generating elevated moisture and instability, with showers and thunderstorms expected to persist through Monday. A Level 3 out of 4 flash flood threat is active in the West Virginia mountains due to saturated soils and steady rainfall. Additionally, a Level 2 out of 4 flash flood risk is in place for cities like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, where rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches. Damaging wind gusts of 50 to 65 mph are also possible in areas under a Level 2 out of 5 severe storm risk, including parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and northern North Carolina.
