Oregon Congresswoman Andrea Salinas Seeks Answers on Immigrant Deaths Involving Federal Agents
U.S. Representative Andrea Salinas from Oregon is demanding transparency and accountability following recent incidents involving federal immigration agents that resulted in the deaths of immigrants. Salinas, along with other Democrats, participated in a shadow oversight hearing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine. The hearing, which included testimonies from affected families, highlighted concerns over the actions of immigration agents and the lack of accountability. Salinas has criticized the current practices of ICE and is advocating for independent investigations and legislative reforms.
