Hawaii Man Charged with Murder in Connection to Three Deaths on Big Island
Jacob Daniel Baker, a 36-year-old resident of Pāhoa, Hawaii, has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including one count of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder. These charges are related to the deaths of three individuals in the remote community of Puna on Hawaii's Big Island. The victims were discovered over a span of two days, with the first being a 69-year-old man found partially submerged in a cement pond. The second victim, a 79-year-old man, was found with blunt force trauma, and the third, another 69-year-old man, was discovered with sharp force trauma. Baker was apprehended on May 28 after a manhunt, during which he was considered armed and dangerous. He was found hiding in a small cave after being spotted on surveillance footage. Baker is being held without bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on June 1.
