The incident occurred when a couple discovered the bag, which contained an MP5 semiautomatic carbine, a Glock pistol, a Taser, and ammunition, on a curbside in south London. The couple reported the find to the police, who quickly retrieved the weapons. The Directorate of Professional Standards is reviewing the circumstances, and the police have acknowledged the public concern this incident may cause. A spokesperson for the mayor emphasized the need for measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
