Many Republican candidates are reportedly opting out of President Trump's upcoming midterm convention in Dallas, with a Politico survey indicating that most of the 70 GOP candidates and members interviewed either do not plan to attend or are still considering their options. Reasons cited for their absence include prior obligations in their districts, personal events, and the five-figure entry fees required to attend. For example, Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.) stated he was 'not sure yet' about attending, while Reps. Zach Nunn (R-Iowa) and Nick LaLota (R-N.Y.) confirmed they would not be present. The convention also conflicts with the first two games of the NFL season, potentially impacting viewership and attendance.
