Trumbull County Planning Commission Honors Rev. John Michael L. Oliver for Health Equity Leadership
The Trumbull County Planning Commission has recognized the Rev. John Michael L. Oliver, executive director of the African American Male Wellness Agency-Mahoning Valley, with its 'Something Good Initiative' award. This honor acknowledges his exceptional leadership, community service, and dedication to enhancing health and wellness throughout the Mahoning Valley. Under Oliver's guidance, the agency has significantly expanded its partnerships with healthcare providers, educational institutions, government agencies, businesses, and faith-based organizations. These collaborations have facilitated the provision of free health screenings, wellness education, mentorship, and crucial support services to thousands of residents in the region. Oliver has also spearheaded impactful initiatives such as the annual Black Men's Wellness Day, Real Men Real Talk, and the Mahoning Valley Fatherhood Coalition, all aimed at promoting preventive healthcare, mental wellness, fatherhood engagement, and leadership development.
