Governor Beshear Urges Senator McConnell to Address Health Concerns or Resign
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has called on Senator Mitch McConnell to either publicly address his constituents regarding his health or resign from his position. This demand comes as McConnell, aged 84, is recovering from a fall and pneumonia. Beshear's request was made through a letter, urging McConnell to provide proof of his ability to serve, such as releasing a video or participating in a news broadcast. The governor also reached out to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, asking for a full investigation into McConnell's condition if he is unable to demonstrate his fitness for office. McConnell's office has stated that he is undergoing intense physical therapy and is not yet cleared to return to work.
