ICE Officer Faces Assault Charges After Alleged Gun Incident in Minnesota
An arrest warrant has been issued for Gregory Donnell Morgan Jr., an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer, following allegations of a road rage incident in Minneapolis. Morgan is accused of pointing his government-issued firearm at two individuals in another vehicle while driving on duty. The incident occurred on February 5, when Morgan allegedly drove on the shoulder of a highway and pointed his gun at the occupants of a car that had briefly moved into the shoulder ahead of him. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced two second-degree assault charges against Morgan, emphasizing that federal agents do not have absolute immunity from state laws. The case is part of a broader investigation into ICE officers' conduct during the Trump administration's 'Metro Surge' immigration operation, which has led to several cases being opened in Minnesota.
