Russian Drone and Missile Attacks Cause Destruction in Kyiv, Residents Trapped
The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, has been subjected to a significant attack by Russian forces using drones and missiles. According to officials, several buildings have been damaged, with one partially collapsing in the eastern Darnytskyi district, potentially trapping residents under the rubble. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the capital's military administration, reported that emergency services are en route to assist those affected. The attacks have also caused damage in various city districts, including a northern suburb where debris sparked a fire in a 12-story apartment block. Mayor Vitali Klitscho confirmed the widespread damage across the capital. The Ukrainian air force noted that Russian missiles also targeted other regions, such as Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv in the north, and Poltava in the central part of the country. The attacks are part of a broader offensive involving drones and guided bombs targeting eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.
