Two Civil Lawsuits Filed Following Deadly Wrong-Way Crash on Route 315 in Columbus, Ohio
Two civil lawsuits have been filed in connection with a fatal wrong-way crash that occurred on State Route 315 in Columbus, Ohio, in May. The lawsuits were initiated by the estate of Kaitlyn Spahr, who died in the incident, and by Soogie Choi, who sustained serious injuries. Both legal actions name Xiaoke Fan, the alleged driver of the wrong-way vehicle, and the woman whose car Fan reportedly stole, as defendants. Fan faces multiple criminal charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated robbery. The lawsuits against the car owner allege negligence, claiming she assumed responsibility for Fan by driving her to the hospital instead of contacting authorities and by leaving her car running with keys inside, allowing Fan to take it. Previously, Fan was reported to have threatened the car owner with a rock to steal the vehicle. No court date has been set for these civil cases.
