VMI Cadet Max Perry '28 Shares Study Abroad Experience in Greece
Cadet Max Perry, a psychology major from the Class of 2028 at Virginia Military Institute (VMI), participated in a study abroad program on Paros Island, Greece. This experience is part of VMI's Office of Global Education initiative, which sees over 10% of cadets engaging in international learning each year. Perry chose the program to explore Europe and earn six academic credits. He highlighted the unique aspect of having VMI professors accompany the group, who understood the cadets' academic background and balanced exploration with learning. Perry emphasized the importance of immersing oneself in the local culture, leaving his phone aside, and actively seeking new experiences. He also noted the value of staying on top of coursework to fully enjoy the program.
