Macron's Diplomatic Adviser to Visit China for Strategic Talks Amid EU Trade Deficit Concerns
Emmanuel Bonne, diplomatic adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron, is scheduled to embark on a five-day visit to China starting Friday for strategic talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This visit was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning in Beijing. The Chinese side anticipates strengthening coordination with France on both bilateral and multilateral issues, aiming to foster stable development in relations between China, France, and the European Union. Mao Ning emphasized that resolving differences through dialogue serves the common interests of China and the EU. Bonne's trip coincides with ongoing discussions in Beijing between Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič, scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Šefčovič is addressing the EU's trade deficit with China, which exceeds €1 billion daily, along with market access and trade restrictions.
