Davidson County Primary Election on May 5 Requires Voter ID
The Davidson County primary election for state and county offices is set to take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Voters participating in this election are required to present a federal or Tennessee state-issued photo ID at their polling location. Acceptable forms of identification include a Tennessee driver's license with a photo, a U.S. passport, a photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, a photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government, a U.S. military photo ID, or a Tennessee handgun carry permit with a photo. First-time voters who registered by mail or online and have an expired ID must also present additional documentation such as a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or another government document that shows the voter's name and address.
