Flooding Triggers Water Rescues at Chateau Estates in Zanesville, Ohio
Heavy rains and persistent flooding have caused significant damage to the Chateau Estates mobile home park in Zanesville, Ohio. According to Captain Jacob Gates of the Falls Township Fire Department, several residents required water rescues early Thursday morning, around 8:00 AM. The flooding left many trapped in their homes, and while no injuries were reported, several homes sustained damage, and roads within the park were covered in mud. Rescue efforts were coordinated by multiple agencies, including the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, Falls Township Fire Department, Washington Fire Department, and Zanesville Fire Department. Captain Gates emphasized the importance of avoiding high waters, urging residents to “turn around, don’t drown.”
