Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Opens New Pharmacy in Juneau, Restoring Compounding Services
The Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) has opened a new pharmacy in the Mendenhall Mall in Juneau, Alaska. This new facility marks the return of compounding services to Juneau, a service that had been unavailable since Ron's Apothecary closed in 2023. The SEARHC pharmacy will occupy the same space previously used by Ron's Apothecary. According to Mike Dow, SEARHC's director of pharmacy, the new location aims to provide convenience and accessibility to residents in the Mendenhall Valley, which is identified as Juneau's largest growth area. As an Indian Health Service (IHS) pharmacy operated by an Alaska Native nonprofit, it offers expanded access to medications for SEARHC patients, with retail products also available to the general public.
