Iranian Delegation Leaves Pakistan Without Second Round of US Peace Talks
The Iranian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, departed Pakistan without engaging in a second round of peace talks with U.S. negotiators. This development casts doubt on the future of negotiations between the two countries. During their visit to Islamabad, the Iranian officials met with Pakistani mediators, including Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Despite previous statements from the White House indicating that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would travel to Pakistan for direct talks, Iran maintains that no further discussions are planned. The White House has not commented on the status of the U.S. delegation's trip.
