Activists Launch Flotilla from Spain to Deliver Aid to Gaza Amid Ongoing Crisis
A flotilla consisting of over 70 boats carrying activists and aid for Palestinians in Gaza has set sail from Barcelona, Spain. This initiative, organized by the Global Sumud Flotilla, represents the largest civilian-led mobilization against Israel's actions in the Palestinian territory. The flotilla aims to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where Israeli attacks have resulted in over 700 deaths since a ceasefire six months ago. The blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt has severely restricted access to food and medicine, exacerbating the dire living conditions for Gaza's 2 million residents. The flotilla's departure was delayed due to bad weather, but organizers are determined to highlight the plight of Palestinians despite previous attempts being thwarted by Israeli authorities.
