Consumer Reports Finds Nevada Grocery Stores Cheaper Than Walmart
A recent analysis by Consumer Reports has revealed significant price differences among grocery stores, with some Nevada stores offering cheaper prices than Walmart. The report, which used Walmart as a baseline, found that warehouse clubs like Costco and WinCo are among the most affordable options, with Costco being 21.4% cheaper and WinCo 3.3% cheaper than Walmart. The study also highlighted that Aldi, although not present in Reno, offers prices 8.3% lower than Walmart in Southern Nevada. Conversely, Whole Foods was identified as the most expensive chain, with prices nearly 40% higher than Walmart. The analysis was conducted by Strategic Resource Group, which compared prices of national-brand items across six U.S. cities, including Los Angeles and Chicago.
