President Trump's Endorsement Shakes Up South Carolina Gubernatorial Primary
A recent poll by the Trafalgar Group indicates that Representative Nancy Mace is trailing in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary. This development follows President Trump's endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, which has significantly influenced the race dynamics. The poll, conducted from June 2-4, shows a competitive field with no clear frontrunner. Mace, who has been a representative since 2021, entered the gubernatorial race last August, foregoing reelection to Congress. Despite her initial strong position, the race has tightened, and under South Carolina law, if no candidate secures more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff will occur between the top two candidates.
