Ex-NYPD Officer Erik Duran Seeks Release Pending Appeal After Manslaughter Conviction
Erik Duran, a former NYPD officer, is seeking release from custody while appealing his manslaughter conviction. Duran was sentenced to up to nine years in prison for the death of Eric Duprey, whom he struck with a picnic cooler during a 2023 drug sting operation. Duran's legal team argues that the judge's decision was erroneous and not supported by the evidence.
