Romania Scrambles F-16s as Russian Drone Crosses Ukraine's Danube River Border
Romania scrambled two F-16 fighter jets after a Russian drone crossed into its airspace during an attack on southern Ukraine. The drone entered Romanian territory for about 20 minutes before returning to Ukraine, where it was shot down by Ukrainian forces. This incident is part of a series of Russian drone incursions into Romanian airspace, prompting Romania to summon its Russian ambassador. The drone debris fell in a rural area of Romania, causing no casualties or damage. Romania, a NATO and EU member, shares a border with Ukraine along the Danube River and the Black Sea coast.
