Senator Blumenthal Demands Pentagon Address USS Lincoln Conditions Amid Deployment

In a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao, Blumenthal highlighted issues such as broken toilets, food shortages, and inadequate hygiene products, which have been reported by sailors and their families. The USS Lincoln has been at sea for 264 days, setting a modern record for continuous deployment without a port call, which has led to worries about sailor exhaustion and morale. Blumenthal's letter questions the Navy's ability to maintain such an operational tempo and calls for immediate attention to these issues.
