Ukraine's Defense Tech Industry Faces Fragile Foundation Despite Boom, Deputy Minister Warns
Ukraine's defense technology industry is experiencing rapid growth in response to battlefield demands, but its foundation remains fragile due to a heavy reliance on foreign suppliers for critical components such as batteries, semiconductors, and motors. Natalia Denikeieva, a deputy minister of digital transformation, emphasized that producing these components domestically is a matter of survival for the industry. She highlighted that a cessation of sales from foreign suppliers, particularly from countries like China, could lead to the closure of Ukrainian defense companies.
