Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer Resigns Amid Inspector General Investigations
Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the Secretary of Labor under President Trump, has resigned from her position. According to a statement by White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, Chavez-DeRemer is leaving the administration to pursue a role in the private sector. During her tenure, she was recognized for her efforts in protecting American workers and promoting fair labor practices. Her resignation marks the third cabinet departure in recent months, following the exits of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi. Chavez-DeRemer's departure coincides with reports of inspector general investigations into her conduct while in office. Keith Sonderling has been appointed as the acting Secretary of Labor.
