Thailand Conducts Airstrikes on Cambodian Border Amid Ceasefire Breakdown
Thailand has launched airstrikes along its disputed border with Cambodia following accusations from both sides of ceasefire violations. The conflict, which reignited after a period of relative calm, has led to the evacuation of over 35,000 people from the border areas. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized that military operations are necessary to defend national sovereignty and public safety. The Thai military claims that Cambodian troops initiated the conflict by firing into Thai territory, resulting in the death of one Thai soldier and injuries to others. In response, Thailand used aircraft to target Cambodian military positions. Cambodia, however, denies initiating the conflict and has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
